The DeepFactor control plane is available in .ova format for deployments using VMware.
Note that the screen captures below are from ESXi 6.7, but the .ova can be deployed on any ESXi version 5.5 or later (or vCenter 5.5 or later, or VMware Workstation/Fusion). The steps to import an .ova in VMware products other than ESXi 6.7 may vary.
Step 1: Create your DeepFactor account on my.deepfactor.io
Step 2: Download the DeepFactor OVA and key after logging in.
Step 3: In the ESXi web user interface, click ‘Create/Register VM’:

Step 4: Select ‘Deploy a virtual machine from an OVF or OVA file’:

Step 5: Enter a name for the portal VM, and then click in the large grey window to select the .ova you downloaded previously.

Step 6: Click ‘Next’:

Step 7: (optionally) Select a datastore where the portal VM will be deployed, then click ‘Next’:
Step 8: Click ‘Next’:
Step 9: Click ‘Finish’ to import the .ova. After clicking ‘Finish’, it may take several minutes for the .ova to be imported.
Step 10: Select the name of the VM you created from the ‘Virtual Machines’ window:
Step 11: Wait for the VM to be powered on, and then open the VM console:
Step 12: After approximately 1-2 minutes, the console will display a first-time authentication key that needs to be entered into the control plane’s web interface during first time boot. Navigate a browser to the IP address of the new VM, and follow the first-time setup wizard to complete control plane configuration.
(Note: The IP addresses assigned to the machine are printed in the console for convenience purposes. If the machine is behind a NAT or firewall, the IP address you use to access the control plane’s web user interface may be different. Check with your ESXi / network administrator if this is the case.)
Step 13: Copy the key and enter the IP address of the new VM in a web browser, then follow the first-time setup wizard to complete control plane configuration as follows.
Step 14: Copy the contents of the key file you downloaded from my.deepfactor.io
Step 15: Create DeepFactor Portal admin user
Step 16: Enter a portal hostname.
Step 17: Complete setup by clicking Finish Setup.
You DeepFactor Portal is ready. You can now login using the credentials you entered in the "
